I went to McDonald’s with my boyfriend to get Happy Meals because they were having Monster High toys. I was pretty disappointed when instead they gave us leftover/extra toys. I’m not a huge football person (meaning I like the culture not so much the actually sport) so these toys would look very out of place in my room.

So naturally I made them adorable. <3

As a child I started my love of postage and letter writing by exchanging letters with my Grandmother’s sister Shirley. (My Aunt) She would always sent me the most beautiful cards. I’ve always kept all of the cards from birthdays to christmas but her taste in stationary was something I truly treasured.

If any of you guys truly know what’s going on in my life I’ve made a very big decision to stop attending art school… Don’t worry just a change in my major. I’m looking in to transferring to UWM for Stage Management come Spring semester.

However in the current semester I am taking some time off to really focus on who I am as an artist. I’m giving myself the time and energy in making the kind of art I WANT to be making. I’m building my portfolio and saving up some money for the future.

The following collection has been my on-going summer kitsch/craft/collage project. Since I’m a real life grown-up now. (yucky) I had to officially move-out of my parents house. My childhood bedroom has bed repainted and redecorated COMPLETELY to be the Verdone household’s new guest bedroom. So in the two months I stayed with my family over the summer I did a lot of cleaning and re-discovering. We also had a yard sale to cleanse ourselves of a lot of un-necessary material objects just hanging around. In the process of all this I found an old scrapbook I had barely started when I was a young tot… and with all the paper hoarding I do I quickly found a lot of sentimental and nostalgic scraps to fill an entire book with. This is a bright and colorful brief journey into the last 21 years of my life.

..and hey, I actually properly filled a “sketchbook”
